Некои општи белешки за преведувањето

Aвтентикација се однесува на идентитет.

Aвторизација на овластување (одобрување).

File is a noun (as in, print file, save file, import file.) Edit is a verb, View would be the one I'd have the most trouble deciding on. It seems to be used as a verb (view page source) and as a noun (reload view.) History, bookmarks and tools are nouns. Help I'm not sure about.

In our case (eu) there's no doubt:
File: noun
Edit: verb
View: verb
History: noun
Bookmarks: noun
Tools: noun
Help: noun

I'd agree with that. File is a noun (the operations relate to the currently viewed File - think of a word processor) and View is a verb (View the toolbar, View the source).

In Polish Firefox:

File - a noun ("Plik"),
Edit - an English verb, but in pl we stick to the convention that translates this into a noun 
("Edycja", not really a nice translation, but used across Windows and Linux since 1994 or so)
View - a noun ("Widok")
History, Bookmarks, Tools, Window,  Help - all nouns (Historia, Zakładki, Narzędzia, Okno, Pomoc)

Things are different in Camino, though, as it sticks to the (IMHO) silly Polish Mac OS X terminology (making "View" a verb "Zobacz", and turning "Edit" into plural "Zmiany").

In Russian Firefox: File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help -

all nouns (Файл, Правка, Вид, Журнал, Закладки, Инструменты, Справка)

Similarly in Irish Firefox - our team chose to use all nouns: Comhad, Eagar, Amharc, Stair, Leabharmharcanna, Uirlisí, Cabhair.

In French it's all translated with nouns because it sounds better in our language this way and also to follow the general consensus in French Software but what is more important is that the translation is correct in your language, not that you follow the verb/noun choices in English.

.title се оние стрингови кои се појавуваат во насловот на Window Managerot.

Пр. ако има некој прозорец во кој се уредуваат обележувачите на англиски стрингот за превод најверојатно би бил „Edit Bookmarks“. Во преведувањето ова преминува во „Уреди ги обележувачите“. Сепак за да биде правилно ова треба да гласи „Уредување на обележувачите“. Ова треба да биде вака бидејќи на овој начин се објаснува најдобро што се прави во дадениот прозорец.

Овие се стрингови кои се појавуваат како совети над некои копчиња во Firefox. Овие исто така треба да бидат поправени во смисла на тоа да звучат како да му се обраќаат на корисникот или описно. Пр. тултип „Show and Manage installed Add-ons“ е преведен како „Приказ и уредување на инсталираните додатоци“ а треба „Прикажува(ње) и уредува(ње) на инсталирани додатоци“.
