Хаклаб/Next
Prologue
This page will represent the specification of the hacker space (hacklab) metalab that we want to build. We have almost two years of experience building the KIKA hacklab in Skopje. We want to use that knowledge and experience to go further.
The KIKA hacker space was conceived in September 2007 at a regional meeting called yaxwe that morphed the following year into NSND a lasting regional cooperation of hackers and free software communities in the countries of former Yugoslavia. KIKA was established two years after that in Skopje in September 2009.
This page represents our joint effort to establish a permanent space with excellent technical and working conditions where people can research and develop new technologies in computer science, visual arts and society, additional spread and extend their knowledge and empower their hacker communities, and interface with the hacker communities of the region, primarily Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and the world, Germany, USA, the Netherlands etc.
This page is written in English so we can collaborate and reach all interested parties that want to support are joint efforts of building our hacker space, extend the collaboration with the hacker spaces in our region and establish new ones where needed.

National cooperation
We are doing 3 NSND across Macedonia.

- April NSND Stip
- May/June NSND Ohrid (International)
- September NSND Strumica
- another city if needed
We need travel, accomodation and food costs covered for the speakers and people that wanna join from MKD and abroad.
Network of spaces
We want to build a network of spaces across the balkans and connect them via vpn, video and join projects/content.
The network will consist of Zagreb Mama, Skopje Kika, Belgrade (the new hackerspace).
Potentialy other regional hacklabs can join the network, if CCC can do it in Germany, why not we try and do it.
We can use the infrastructure to work on join projects, to use live video streams for Knowledge sharing, Spodeli znaenje etc, why not try and have a video link with two cheap usb cameras and a mic and see what is going on in all of the hacklabs at the same time.
Regional cooperation
- NSND Split
- NSND Belgrade
- NSND Ohrid
- CCC Berlin
Try to rent/buy a van, finance travel and accomodation costs for people and hungry students, as Marko from Belgrade said try to bring interested people that can not travel/join due to finances and share the experience.
Residency program
Make a list of all active projects at each hacklab, try to get people from the region to stay at each hacklab for a month or two, to work on a particular project.
Finance the accomodation, food and travel costs plus some living money so people can work on free software projects in each hacklab.
Try to bring people from other countries to spent time in each hacklab to share experience and knowledge.
